How to Quickly and Inexpensively Organize Your Closet

Do you know how to make your closet looked more organized? While we've all seen shows like "Home Edit" and Marie Kondo and the beautiful ways that they organize with 100 bins of all the colors of the rainbow and saying 'thank you' to all the items you discard...it can be a bit overwhelming!! And it's not real life. Who has DAYS to do that?!

We get more and more requests to help clients rework their closets and we love that! But if your closet is good but maybe just a little chaotic...here are some easy ideas of how to solve that:

* Purge with purpose - get rid of items you no longer need and donate the good items to charity

* Do not store items on the floor, unless they are in a container

* Line up shoes on shelves - point each shoe of the pair in opposite directions to give more room or use shoe storage boxes for ones that don't get as much use

* If possible, create drawer space in the closet or as we did in this one, create islands

* Stick with one type of hanger - wood or felt should be able to accommodate most items

* Have some fun - 'style' your closet with fun art or wallpaper

* Lastly, if you can, store items out of sight - use doors or baskets to contain clutter
